Only a Couple of Days to Go!

It's almost here! Online classroom registration has been disabled but there's still room in many of the classes. You can register onsite but be prepared by bringing your well maintained sew machine (with all attchments) manual and favourite sewing tools with you!

Classes begin on Friday at 9:00 a.m. and the show floor opens at noon. Classes begin on Saturday at 8:30 a.m. and the show floor opens at 10:00 a.m.

There are great activities going on on the show floor at the presentation stage and at the booths. Demonstrations, fashion shows, make and takes and presentations are all part of the excitement.

And the Door Prizes are amazing! See you there!

Ten Reasons to Attend SewFest West 2010!

1. It's a sewing, fibre arts and needlework show. No shammies, no garlic crushers, no cheap watches, no tooth whiteners, no weight-loss machines and no pots & pans.

2. It's inexpensive. Only $5 admission gets you into the exhibit hall. Admission is included with class registration.

3. Snack bar in the show area gives you easy access to reasonably priced beverages, lunch or snacks, and you don't miss the action.

4. ATM is on site. So if you forget to drop by the bank, you still have access to cash if you need it.

5. Parking is free. While it may be a bit of a drive for some of you, at least you don't have a parking fee to pay when you arrive.

6. Bingeman's Funworx is open if your spouse wants something to do with the kids while you take a class or attend a seminar. Visit for information.

7. Clean, bright and roomy washrooms. Yes, there may be line-ups at the busiest times but they won't last long.

8. Bingeman's has wheelchair accessibility: An important consideration for those who use mobility devices.

9. A wide selection of classes to take throughout the day. Click on the classes links to the left or visit to register online.

10. Kayla Kennington, our feature celebrity is literally the Creme de la Creme of fibre artists, educators and garment designers. Visit for a sneak preview. Quilters, embroiderers, beaders, seamstresses and designers will all be amazed at her showpieces. Be sure to register for a class or see her fabulous slide show and presentation.

Door Prizes Aplenty! Wow!

While you still may be waiting to win the Super 7 or 649 lotteries, you have much better odds of winning a door prize at SewFest West 2010. So many companies have generously donated prizes.

Each attendee with admission ($5) will receive a ballot to complete and drop off at the Sewers Forum Booth No. 1 for a chance to win. Some nice things about this are:
1. you don't have to be present to win.
2. you don't have to wander everywhere trying to find the ballot box; it's printed right on the ballot, Booth No 1.
3. the draws take place at the free seminar area (theatre) on the show floor after every presentation.
4. the major door prizes (2 each day) will be drawn after the last presentation on the show floor.
5. if you win a door prize during the day, your ballot will be placed back into the draw for the major prizes.
6. a list of door prize draw winners will be posted at the Sewers Forum Booth No. 1 throughout the show.
